Pin Grading

 

Did you know enamel pin production process includes both machinery and physical hand detailing? Due to this, each pin may have slight inconsistencies. Please see below for how I grade my pins:

My pin grades will fall into 3 categories: A, B, and C.

DETAILS

 A-Grade

Standard grade

 This grade may have the following cosmetic, yet very minor imperfections:

  • Superficial marks or scratches only visible at certain lighting or angles

  • Small smudges or nicks on the back side of pin

  • Minimal dots or bubbles on the metal plating or enamel

  • Very small amount of dips in enamel

B-Grade

Seconds

This grade will have more of the above in addition to major flaws including but not limited to

  • A high amount of dust

  • Metal oxidation

  • Large area of scratches (approx. 25% of the surface)

  • Dips in enamel

C-Grade - This grade is typically never sold and have flaws that affect the integrity of the original design.


While B-grade will be labeled across my shop, but you can assume all other pins offered will be A-grade pins. If you have any additional questions about my pin grading, feel free to reach out at anytime!
